Southern Public Power came today and finished setting the power poles on the road. They also installed our transformer and meter box with double-throw switch. This will make hooking up a generator for emergency power much easier.
Pouring the Basement Walls
Today was the big pour. It took six cement trucks to fill the forms for the basement walls. The walls are a whopping 10″ thick, which is thicker than normal to support a 4″ brick ledge. Thanks to Makayla and Morgan for taking these pictures since we couldn’t be there ourselves!

A Firm Footing
We couldn’t go any longer without seeing the progress on the build site, so we made a quick trip down this evening. The footings are in and things are coming along nicely. Lee enjoyed climbing the big dirt piles, and we finished the evening off by picking up little square bales from our front yard!
