The garage is framed and girder trusses are going up today. These are raised-heel trusses, also known as energy heel trusses. They allow for more insulation to be blown in on the outer edges of the roof, increasing energy efficiency.
Sheat is Coming Together
Nearly all of the wall of framing is complete and sheathing is going quickly. We did have a minor casualty on Friday when Gunther accidentally nailed his thumb with the nail-gun. After a quick trip to the Red Cloud ER and three attempts at pulling it out, he’s finally on the mend.
Lunch & Park with Jacobsen’s
Ryan and Abby stopped by today and we all had lunch and a nice trip to the park. The boys had a blast playing together.
Stick ‘Em Up
The framing is well underway! This is the most exciting phase of the build because you can see so much progress and really begin to visualize room sizes.
Beam Me Up Scotty!
Colt & Jay came down today and set the steel I-beam in the basement. It rained a little off an on this morning, but ended up being a great afternoon. They stuck it out and then Rob & I came down later in the afternoon and helped them set the floor joists as well. Mandatory Budweiser consumption followed, of course.
